What to do in Townsville

There are many things to do while visiting Townsville, Queensland, Australia

Townsville is located in Tropical Far North Queensland around 1300 km's north from Brisbane that provides a laid back lifesytle to live and holiday with around 320 days of sunshine a year in a tropical climate.

Currently there is around over 180,000 people that call Townsville home with most comforts of a capital city with many services on offer in the local area.

One of the most popular area for visitors and locals alike is the foreshore area of The Strand that is a 2.2km world-class beachfront promenade custom-built for enjoyment, meeting family & friends and many events.

Just off the coast of Townsville is Magnetic Island  where 70% of the Island is National Park with around 25 km of walking tracks where you can see Koalas, rock wallabies, possums, birds & more. There are 23 bays and beaches with a relaxed tropical lifestyle that the island is all about.

North of Townsville is Paluma Range located in the Heritage listed Wet Tropics Rainforest where a dinosaur bird still roams the rainforest that grows up to 2 meters tall called the Sourthern Cassowary. With dagger like claws on their feet, they must be highly respected as much as they are highly endangered, it can be a once in a lifetime experience not to be missed to see one in the wild.
